Aquaculture Spawning Tanks
Aquaculture is one of Australia’s fastest growing primary industries. Fish farming in Australia accounts for over a third of all seafood production and fish farms can be found from Far North Queensland to to Tasmania.
Aquaculture in Australia accounts for almost half of all seafood production by weight and a third of production by value. In 2017-2018 aquaculture grew to over 97,600 tonnes of seafood with a annual value of $1.42 billion.
Salmon and trout farming alone accounts for almost $500 million annually. However, Australia produces a much wider range of seafood than just ‘salmonids’ including snapper, tuna, oysters, barramundi, prawns, crab, abalone, Murray cod, mulloway, groupers, mussels…in total over 40 breeds/species of seafood are profitably produced through aquaculture in Australia.
Aquaculture’s biggest breeds in Queensland are barramundi, prawns and mud crabs. However, Allstar Plastics have extensive experience in creating tanks for fish farms for most breeds and we can help customise tanks to your aquaculture and spawning needs.
